The week before it released its fifth full-length album, Metallica announced the lineup of its headlining North American tour dates.

The show, titled Metallicon 2017, kicks off Sept. 29 in Denver, CO, and will conclude with a pair of headlining shows in Toronto, ON and Montreal, QC, before moving to the Sunshine Coast in Australia on Oct. 4.

Metallicons 2017 marks the first full-fledged U.S. tour for the band, and its debut in the country.

The band has never headlined an American tour before.

“We’re incredibly excited to start this new chapter of our career with a bang,” Boyd said in a statement.

“This tour will bring together our fans, the world and the Met from across the globe, and we’re looking forward to building on this momentum with a massive, one-night-only festival.”

Metallican lineup for Meticon 2017: Metallicans lead singer Dave Boyd, who had previously toured with the band for years, will lead the show in Denver.

The concert will be followed by a pair in Toronto on Sept. 28 and Oct. 3, and a second night in Montreal on Oct, 4.

The first shows will be preceded by a headlining concert at the Sunshine Cove Casino on Nov. 10.

The rest of the shows will follow the same schedule as the North American tours.

“Metallicon is our biggest show yet, and it will be an amazing showcase of the incredible talent that we have in the band,” said Metallians lead guitarist Dave Mustaine.

“I can’t wait to see all of our fans in the crowd, and I hope you are as excited to be there as we are to share the festival with you.”

Mustaine and Boyd also announced the names of two other bands, Metallica’s David Bowie and Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, to headline a second day of the tour, which is being organized by the band’s parent company, Ticketmaster.

The festival is also offering an array of special events, including a free live concert with singer-songwriter Josh Klinghoffer and a one-day, no-show-ticketed concert featuring live musicians from the band and others.

“It’s a very special time for us and for fans of Metallica and the band as a whole,” Mustaine said in the statement.

“We can’t begin to imagine what the future will bring with our new lineup of performers and the fans who will attend the show,” he continued.

“Our fans are always asking us how the future of the Met will look with this lineup, and with that, we are pleased to announce that the following dates are set for 2017: Oct. 5 at the Colorado Convention Center, Boulder, CO; Oct. 7 at the University of Colorado, Boulder; Oct 7 at San Diego Comic-Con, San Diego, CA; Oct 10 at the Anaheim Convention Center; Oct 11 at the San Jose Convention Center.

Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster or through Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.

The Metals 2017 Meticon concert series is sponsored by Ticketmaster and the Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Alamos Nuclear Power Plant and other partners.
