By The Associated PressThe star of the hit British music video for “Millionaires Boys” said on Sunday she is writing her memoir.
Meryl Streep, 71, has written her autobiography, “A Millionaire Girl,” about her life as a pop star in the 1970s and ’80s and how she grew up in the affluent suburban London borough of Brentwood.
She wrote the memoir in 2005 after suffering a heart attack.
She had just turned 50.
Streep also has three children and has had a long and successful career.
The book will be published in July.
“I’m writing the book in the spirit of the past,” Streep said on a TV appearance on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.
“There’s a lot of people I’ve had the pleasure of seeing live, and the people who are still around are quite beautiful and lovely, so I’m very lucky to be able to share the stage with them.”
Streep made her first recording in 1973, when she was 15 years old, and later appeared in numerous films, including “The Piano” and “The Virgin Suicides.”
She has been married to Tom Jones since 1986 and their children have included actress Sophie Hunter, singer Michael Caine and comedian Steve Coogan.
Streeps first public comments about her memoir were in 2007, when Streep told the London Evening Standard: “There are so many things I didn’t do in my life, I don’t think anybody ever did, and I want to write a memoir about all of them.”
